See quality pottery, meet the artists, watch demonstrations in Northvale, NJ.

An Artists’ Show and Sale will be offered at the Charles Street Studios, 20 Charles Street, Northvale, NJ, on Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 11:00AM to 5:00PM. A dozen ceramicists from northern New Jersey and Rockland County, New York, will show their hand-built pieces, wheel-thrown vessels, and slip-cast pottery. Creative techniques will be demonstrated at 2:00PM each day. Admission and parking are free.

Of the 12 featured artists, several live in Bergen County:

Christina Jensen has always been interested in a variety of artistic modalities. In 2004, she began studying ceramics at TASOC, where she became fascinated with clay, glazes, and firing methods. These days, Christina’s work in clay includes both hand building and wheel throwing. Sometimes she combines the two techniques to create unique pieces. She prefers to work in dark stoneware and porcelain clays. Christina lives in Montvale and is the studio manager.

Denise Kadar’s work is solely and exclusively hand built. With a BFA in Painting, she diverted to ceramics over twenty years ago. Denise taught hand building at TASOC for ten years. She most enjoys three-dimensional work and the processes involved to create it: analyzing the form, breaking it down into parts, making the parts, joining the parts. Surface texture is very important and she seeks out glazes and washes that emphasize and enhance. Primarily a functional potter, her inspiration is nature-oriented. Denise lives in Edgewater.
Jennifer Park has been a potter for over 12 years; it has been an extensive hobby of hers. She uses a wheel to make exquisite functional pieces in a minimalist style that is inspired by Korean art. Jennifer lives in Cliffside Park.
Aidaly Sosa-Walker creates food ware and décor pieces inspired by the ocean’s movement—fluid, elegant, and textured. Through Ceramics by ASW, she blends influences from the sea, fashion, and architecture into refined designs inspired by her roots. What started as a hobby has taken on a life of its own, evolving into a collection that blends beauty with functionality. Aidaly resides in Alpine.
